Senior Scientist - Contract - Tarrytown, NY

Proclinical is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Infectious Disease group. In this role, you will focus on conducting experiments to support the discovery of antiviral therapeutics. This position involves a mix of in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro research, as well as molecular biology techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology or infectious disease and be comfortable working in a BSL2 environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently carrying out experiments to support the discovery of antiviral therapeutics.
Skills & Requirements:
Background in immunology and/or infectious disease, with experience in related techniques.
Proficiency in animal handling and mouse in vivo techniques, such as IV injections, virus challenge models, and ex vivo tissue analysis in BSL2 environments.
Expertise in immunological assays, including multicolor flow cytometry and cell-based infection assays.
Familiarity with molecular biology methods, such as cloning, protein purification, and microscopy, is preferred.
The Senior Scientist's responsibilities will be:
Perform in vivo experiments using mice, including ex vivo tissue processing and analysis through techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, ELIspot, qRT-PCR, and plaque assays.
Conduct cell-based virus infection assays and other in vitro experiments in a BSL2 environment.
Execute molecular biology tasks, including PCR, cloning, nucleic acid isolation/purification, and protein purification.
Maintain accurate records of experimental results and perform data analysis.
Present findings to the broader team.
Compensation:
$75.00 - $85.00 Per Hour
