JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a fulltime Research Technologist. Responsibilities include working with animals and performing
laboratory tasks, such as:
Learning and managing lab orders and purchases, including supplies, reagents, animals, and documentation.
Learning and handling mouse husbandry, including breeding, PCR genotyping, and documentation.
Learning and performing drug treatments, including tail vein injection, oral and nasal drug administration.
Learning and conducting mouse brain tissue sectioning (frozen and paraffin).
Learning and acquiring images using fluorescence microscopy.
Learning and conducting neurological behavioral tests in mice following stroke and brain trauma.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience
No prior relevant work experience required
Equivalency
Previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education
This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal ground Check
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal ground Check

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
