Conduct research to elucidate the mechanism of superinfection exclusion and cross protection using a plant virus; care for the related plants and bacterial collections; conduct the pertinent molecular biology experiments; works cooperatively with other lab members; contributes to the supply and maintenance of experimental materials, including preparing solutions, buffers, and microbial growth media; cares for various kinds of plants; performs routine cleaning and upkeep of lab equipment and the working environment.
