Job Description

Join our team as a Quality Control Lab Technician where you will be at the forefront of testing and verifying finished goods in a dynamic chemistry lab environment. You will actively participate in maintaining high-quality standards for our products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and contributing to continual improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Test and verify all finished materials according to Test Procedure/SOP.
  • Determine material adjustments based on control plans and FMEAs.
  • Write clear and concise directions for batch adjustments.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials according to the Non-Conformance procedure.
  • Maintain manual product quality files for raw materials or finished goods.
  • Perform statistical analysis on finished goods to confirm process control.
  • Observe production processes and verify compliance with written instructions.
  • Participate in SPC and training for production products and test methods.
  • Assist Quality Manager/Sr QC Technician with small material quality issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to eliminate rework and enhance product quality.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning freezers and ovens and maintaining test equipment.
  • Verify equipment calibration and dispose of retains monthly.
  • Conduct line audits, dock audits, and work order staging.
  • Test and verify raw materials per customer/NCU requirements.
  • Handle chemicals safely and wear PPE as required.
  • Participate in inventory control and document control processes.
  • Engage in improvement processes and share ideas.
  • Participate in training activities and complete any required tests or reviews.
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment related to finished material testing.
  • Understanding of NCU product catalog, processes, and customer requirements.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry).
  • Attention to detail and focus.
  • 0-2 years of industry experience performing chemistry lab testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in quality control, assurance, and chemical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with GMP, SOP, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of QC requirements.
  • Proficiency in using equipment such as viscosity meters, FTIR, UV-vis, and DSC.
Work Environment

Work in a small lab located off the main building in a manufacturing and production setting. Collaborate closely with the production team, a technical leader, a chemist, and three other technicians. The culture is focused, open, relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. The dress code is casual (jeans allowed) with appropriate PPE, including lab coats and glasses, provided. Hours are Monday to Thursday from 6:30am to 5pm, with mandatory overtime every third Friday from 7am to 11am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
