Lab Technician Location: Golden Valley, MN Type: Contract Overview Global Food Manufacturer is seeking an experienced Labs Analyst to support all laboratory testing needs. Must be able to perform or learn a minimum of the following laboratory skills including prepping of samples, accurate weighing, pipetting, and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples. Responsibilities + Facilitate analytical testing or sample preparation for Medallion in conjunction with other team members + Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples or preparation for Medallion Labs + Document results and review data generated by LIMS or instrumentation to maximize output and meet deadlines + Meet department Quality expectations including: + Complying with Medallion and ISO 17025 quality requirements + Identifying and addressing quality control issues + Completing quality investigations in a thorough and timely manner + Perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and other maintenance required by the Reliability Program + Develop a strong knowledge of the portion of the analytical methods being trained on + Maintain a work environment that complies with GMI and Medallion safety rules + Actively participate in customer and accreditation audits as needed. + Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory and team operations + Other responsibilities as required by specific lab Requirements + Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma w/3-5 years of directly relatable experience + Able to coordinate multiple tasks effectively + Excellent written and verbal communication skills; PC skills: proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel + Works well with individuals and teams; displays a positive attitude + Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability; Flexibility and adaptability + Available to flex work schedule when business need dictates + Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation. + High individual energy with very strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage in Productive Discourse PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related science field preferred + Must work well in a team setting + Ability to work independently or demonstrate ability to acquire such skills + Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation + Technical Excellence, Judgment and Problem Solving, Flexibility and Adaptability Benefits System One offers eligible employees health and welfare benefits coverage options, including medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, life insurance, voluntary plans, and participation in a 401(k) plan.
