Job Summary (Primary function)
The Sr Research Scientist, Applied Technology is responsible for cell biology experiments and cellular screening assays to support drug discovery programs, novel target discovery, and high throughput screening.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Maintaining primary and secondary cell lines for further work in assays and biology experiments.
Able to conduct assays semi independently and make sound judgements about selecting technical approaches but requires supervision for conceptualization and guidance on data analyses and presentation.
Optimization and implementation of new screening technologies or assays to support cell biology assays screening.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
BS in Life Sciences or equivalent.
5-8 years related cell biology experience.
Understanding of technical concepts related to cell assay screening to support drug discovery teams
Strong computer skills and can use internal/external data bases to mine information related to job tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally at group and departmental meetings.
Able to provide technical assistance to others within or external to group in area of cell assay screening.
