Position Summary

The labs of Dr. Michael Meers and Dr. Michael White are seeking to fill a position as a joint postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Genetics. The fellow will develop a multidisciplinary research program examining the mechanisms of gene regulation.

Postdoctoral appointee (postdoc') is an individual holding a doctoral degree who is engaged in a term-limited work appointment of mentored research, scholarly training, and professional development for the purpose of enhancing their academic and research independence as well as the professional skills necessary to pursue a career of their choosing.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Trains under the supervision of a faculty mentor including (but not limited to):

Plan and carry out genomic experiments and computational data analysis.

Present research results at internal and external meetings.

Attend lab meetings and Genetics Department seminars.

May occasionally supervise 1-2 undergraduate or graduate rotation students.

Working Conditions:

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range:

Base pay is commensurate with experience.

At WashU, Postdoctoral appointments:

Have a 5-year term limit that includes previous experience.

Comprise a recommended 10% of effort dedicated to professional and career development.
