Position Overview: We seek motivated students passionate about wet lab (bench) work and willing to participate in lab maintenance and organization alongside our dedicated team. As part of our highly collaborative team, students will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects tailored to our research needs.

Training and Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Training: As a Summer Student Research Assistant in TORCH, you may receive hands-on training in essential molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA/Protein extraction, Western Blotting, PCR genotyping, bacterial cloning, cell culture, and mouse work depending on the needs of the project(s) assigned.
- Documentation: All team members, including students, are expected to meticulously document experiments, data, and analyses according to project guidelines.
- Lab Maintenance: Assist with lab maintenance and participate in lab meetings (schedule permitting).
Education and Experience:
- Students must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at Ohio State University. Highly preferred to be in life sciences. Requires successful completion of a background check and completion of a pre-employment physical including drug screen
Desired Experience (Preferred but not Required):
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including bacterial growth for DNA production and purification, and generating protein lysates for western blotting.
Commitment and Teamwork:
- Support experiments, collaborate with fellow students and lab staff, report results, and prepare presentations.
- A strong willingness to work in a team environment is essential.
