The researcher must have experience with in vivo calcium imaging as well as in dissociated neurons and Schwann cells. The researcher will perform experiments independently as well as under guidance, utilize and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment/devices, perform behavioral and molecular experiments, and compile data and generate reports. Primary responsibilities include: Design experiments, set up microscopy for imaging, generate preclinical cancer models, analyze data and write results. Record, analyze and format experimental data; assist in manuscript preparation, grant application, and meeting presentations. Order and catalog animals, supplies, and reagents, maintain chemical and tissue sample inventory. Maintain cleanliness of work area and quality and safety standards; ensure disposal of hazardous and infectious materials; adhere to infection control procedures; prepare required documents for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee applications for various protocols. Assist with student research projects. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $58,500. Qualifications Applicants must hold a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field. Applicants must have at least 2 years of related experience, be proficient with a variety of laboratory equipment, and have experience working with animals/animal studies. Candidates should have the ability and motivation to work independently and to manage their research projects. The candidate must possess excellent oral communication and scientific writing skills in English.
