Collect and analyze phenotypical data using robust statistical methods; Perform metabolome extraction and conduct comprehensive metabolome profiling analysis; Execute precise hormone extraction and quantification procedures; Conduct nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) extraction and purification, and perform quantitative PCR assays; Implement transcriptome profiling and genomic analysis using Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS); Develop yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) libraries and conduct proteome-wide screening; Maintain meticulous scientific data records with appropriate documentation; Perform advanced statistical analysis and evaluation of experimental results; Prepare comprehensive research reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for professional venues; and assist the program leader in proposal writing and pursuit of external grant funding opportunities.

Maintain current knowledge of relevant scientific literature and methodological advances in the field; Provide guidance and mentorship to students regarding research project execution and completion; Support students in developing scientific writing skills through report preparation assistance; and contribute to a collaborative research environment while maintaining independent project responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Plant Biology or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.

Recommended Competencies

Demonstrated expertise in plant physiology, biology, metabolomics, and/or genetics;

Proven experience with OMIC technologies, particularly in transcriptomics, hormonomics, and metabolomics;

Proficiency in relevant computational tools and software packages for biological data analysis;

Demonstrated ability to apply current technologies to plant biology research;

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in laboratory settings;

Self-motivated with excellent discipline and work ethic;

Superior written and oral communication skills for scientific reporting and presentation; and,

Ability to thrive in collaborative research environments while maintaining independent research capabilities; and, Exceptional organizational and laboratory management skills.

Pay Plan

This is an Other Personnel Support (OPS)/Temporary position.

Conditions of Employment
