Senior Scientist - Gene Therapy

Pay Range: $68.02hr - $72.02hr
  • The Structural Biologist will focus on elucidating the structural characteristics of AAV capsids to advance gene therapy programs.
  • This role involves using cryo-EM and other biophysical techniques to analyze AAV capsid structures and guide the rational design of novel AAV vectors.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with gene therapy and protein engineering teams.

Responsibilities or Duties:

  • XXgn and execute structural biology experiments to characterize AAV capsid proteins.
  • Utilize cryo-EM and other biophysical techniques to determine AAV capsid structures.
  • Analyze structure-function relationships to guide the design of novel AAV vectors.
  • CollaboXX with gene therapy and protein engineering teams to develop improved AAV vectors.
  • Present findings to internal teams and at scientific conferences.
  • Publish research in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualification or Education:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Structural Biology, Biophysics, or a closely related field; no post-doctoral experience necessary.

Experience:

  • Expertise in cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, or related structural biology techniques.
  • Strong background in protein biochemistry and molecular biology.
  • Experience with structure-based protein engineering (highly desirable).

Required Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with computational modeling of protein structures.
  • Knowledge of gene therapy applications and vector development.
  • Familiarity with high-throughput screening approaches.
  • Track record of publications in structural biology or related fields.
