Description
ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Molecular Biologist (1 FTE) to support the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This role supports biological and medical research efforts focused on aeromedical risk characterization through molecular biology techniques and environmental sampling.
Responsibilities
- Assist scientists in setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment
- Monitor experiments, record observations, and calculate results accurately
- Conduct environmental sampling and process samples from wastewater, soil, and air matrices
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing, PCR, microarray genotyping, and related molecular biology techniques
- Analyze genetic variants associated with aeromedical conditions
- Support experimental design, protocol training, data collection, and analysis
- Assist in developing and optimizing genetic testing procedures
- Review and update scientific literature related to research initiatives
- Support preparation, coordination, and submission of protocol-related documents to IRBs and Institutional Biosafety Committees
- Assist in drafting and editing research proposals, papers, and presentations
- Support preparation of reports related to program initiatives
- Perform general laboratory maintenance and support communal solid waste disposal
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, Public Health, or a related field
- 1-2 years' experience in a public health-related or molecular biology laboratory setting
- Proficiency with biological techniques such as microscopy, cell culture, DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, and sequencing
- Experience with Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing chemistry and library preparation protocols
- Experience with environmental sampling (wastewater, soil, air)
- US Citizen
