Job Title: Research Senior Technician - Biological Chemistry & Pharmacology Department: Medicine | School Biomedical Sciences Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology

Research Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigation to study mammalian neuronal signaling as directed in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology; independently conducts assigned experiments; performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including polymerase chain reaction, gel electrophoresis, protein purification, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence assays, confocal microscopy and cell culture; maintains and oversees a mouse breeding colony; collects and processes mouse tissue and DNA samples; tests and evaluates current procedures; records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, posters, and abstracts; researches current scientific literature on specified topics; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of undergraduate students in research methods and equipment operation; maintains and operates various laboratory equipment; assists with ordering, stocking and maintenance of research supplies.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree in a biological/health science major or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
