Responsibilities
- Collect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.
- Conduct tests including pH, viscosity, titrations, product color via colorimeter, density, acid, salt, and sensory evaluations of product taste, aroma, and appearance against control samples.
- Perform quality checks on the production floor, verifying the accuracy of unit codes and case codes, proper application of labels, and conducting metal detector checks.
- Monitor processes to ensure consistent and correct operations.
- Document all results neatly and precisely.
- Label and maintain product retention samples for monitoring throughout the established shelf life.
- Organize collected data for management review.
- Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.
- Monitor the plant for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.
- Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development.
- Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in wet chemistry.
- Experience in quality control and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science, or equivalent experience with at least one year of wet chemistry lab work.
