Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy. Shift Primarily Days Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (some evenings and weekends are possible due to experimentation) Job Summary The laboratory of Dr. Timothy McClintock is looking for a Laboratory Technician to contribute to research on the neurobiology of the sense of smell, especially effects of interactions between odor molecules on odor detection and odor perception in humans, and to a lesser extent in mice. Responsibilities include organizing and administering odor perception tests, processing data, and performing data visualization using computational tools. Duties also include ordering lab supplies, and maintaining a small mouse colony. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Familiarity with personal computers and Microsoft Office. Some knowledge of lab skills like pipetting, making solutions and dilutions of solutions. Some coding experience desired but not required. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience B.S. degree in a field of science, engineering, or math.
