Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Lab Analyst - Microbiology is primarily responsible supporting lab maintenance and for completing environmental swabbing for microbiology work at the client site.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform environmental swabbing/sampling of the production area for downstream microbiological measurement, using prescribed testing methods appropriate to the sample. This includes but is not limited to swab sampling of equipment, water tanks, air handling etc. in the production area.
Receive client training on and demonstrate proficiency in climbing a ladder (attached to wall; ~12ft) to take water samples when needed, from a water tank.
Maintain lab cleanliness and organization, including washing of glassware, general cleaning, restocking of reagents and consumables, and disposal of biohazard waste from microbiological testing.
Make microbiological media (including autoclave use) and reagents for microbiological testing as assigned by the client.
Maintain and calibrate lab equipment as required
Support Quality and continuous improvement projects for facility
Understand and adhere to standards for appropriate test methods and SOPs.
Perform any required quality and safety checks on samples submitted prior to testing.
Performs testing in coordination with clients, coworkers, and supervision from management
Escalates troubleshooting to client as soon as possible
Accurately report and record test data in electronic notebook or handwritten notebooks as needed in a timely manner
Report safety, instrument and technical issues to the appropriate contacts.
Prepare a variety of equipment for testing using prescribed standards / specifications
Prepare stock solutions, and keeping shelves and reagent stocked.
Maintain up to date knowledge of current methods and products to be tested.
Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
Follow the guidelines set forth by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
Adhere to the requirements of the clients Quality System.
Perform testing independently and with limited to no supervision from management.
Identify and escalate issues to clients and management.
Prepare written technical reports; learn and use client LIM system
Perform basic data analysis as-assigned
Assist with training if requested and qualified on the method or process
Ability and flexibility to work a rotational schedule if needed to support a 24/7 facility operation
Other duties as defined by client sponsor, department needs and workload.
Skills & Proficiencies:
Physical ability to climb and comfort with climbing a ladder
Knowledge of GMP regulations, preferred

Education and Experience:
Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in science
A microbiology degree, prior experience in a microbiology laboratory, and/or experience with aseptic technique, preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
Compensation Range:
$20 - $21 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
