Part-Time Assistant Research Scientist (Ercan Lab)

The Ercan lab is seeking to fill a part-time Assistant Research Scientist position for a project on genome organization and gene regulation. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date. Responsibilities may include keeping lab and shared spaces clean and organized, taking out biohazard waste, dishwashing, keeping records by entering information to lab google folder databases, assist in the growth and maintenance of C. elegans, by making bacteria food, worm plate media, buffers, and freezing/organizing stocks. The candidate should have an undergraduate degree in some field of biology. A master's degree is preferred. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act the annual base salary range for this position is $20 for 15 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Qualifications being sought are prior experience with C. elegans growth and maintenance. In addition, experience in sterile media preparation. The researcher hired for the position will help Ercan lab members with routine technical tasks.
