The primary duties of the Technician position involve maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, perform equipment maintenance, ensuring safe operations of laboratory facilities in the department, assist researchers in experimental plan execution, completing annual equipment inventory. This position may also assist PIs to supervise undergraduate and graduate student research and use of laboratory equipment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the overall safety of the lab spaces, coordinating across groups to implement the lab safety plans and good laboratory practice while regularly interacting with faculty, staff, students, and departmental farm staff to maintain smooth operation of the laboratory. Primary responsibilities include lab inventory and supply maintenance, coordinating experiment calendars, feed orders, chemical and biohazard safety protocol implementation, and prepare lab safety protocols.
