Job Description:
ECU Department of Biology is currently seeking a student to serve as an Undergraduate Genomics Core Lab Assistant for the preparation of materials used in teaching labs.

Lab assistants are responsible for:

• The preparation of reagents
• Laboratory setup
• Laboratory breakdown
• Maintaining teaching labs for biochemistry and biotechnology
• Cleaning teaching laboratories

The student must also be available to work a minimum of 4 hours a week around their class schedule.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):
Successful candidates must be able to follow safety rules and protocols, work independently, be detail-oriented, and have availability during the day in two or more hour blocks.

• BS-Biology, BS-Biochemistry or BS/BA-Chemistry
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
