Our client is currently seeking or in need of a Lab Technician in Chatsworth, CA, to support laboratory, production, formulation, and research and development operations within a cosmetic manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with formulas, batch records, testing procedures, and quality standards. The Lab Technician will assist with preparing lab batches, supporting first production runs, maintaining accurate documentation, and helping ensure consistency throughout the development and production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory practices, be able to follow established procedures, and work well with production and quality teams to help maintain efficiency and product accuracy. The Day-to-Day: Manage time and resources effectively to support production products and formulation projects within required timelines. Print approved formulas for compounding and assist with overseeing compounders during first production batches. Help ensure batch accuracy, product consistency, and quality throughout the compounding process. Document and maintain all batch adjustment records with accuracy and attention to detail. Complete, update, and maintain the production schedule as needed. Stay informed on natural formulas, ingredients, and trends within the cosmetic industry. Maintain the R D lab area in a clean, safe, and organized condition, including benchtops, sinks, trash areas, and lab coats. Keep office workspace neat and properly arranged. Prepare lab batches on the bench according to formulation directions while keeping scale-up manufacturability in mind. Utilize a lab notebook and maintain required GMP documentation with detailed notes and observations from benchwork. Perform required testing for batches produced in R D, including viscosity, pH, specific gravity, and organoleptic descriptions. Establish standard specifications during product development. Follow internal procedures to support compliance, quality control, and production requirements. Work closely with the General Manager, Production Manager, and QC Manager to improve workflow and support operational goals. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous laboratory, cosmetic manufacturing, formulation, or production support experience preferred. Ability to follow cGMPs, GLPs, SOPs, and company quality procedures. Familiarity with ingredients and formulations is highly preferred. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Comfortable performing basic lab testing such as pH, viscosity, and specific gravity. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain a clean and compliant lab workspace. Must be able to communicate effectively with management, production, and quality control teams.
