Responsibilities
  • Prepare and examine cytologic specimens under a microscope to detect evidence of cancer or other diseases.
  • Accurately identify cell abnormalities and document findings in pathology reports.
  • Collaborate with pathologists for diagnostic evaluations and case reviews.
  • Maintain specimen integrity and adhere to laboratory protocols for specimen handling and staining.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines (CLIA, CAP, OSHA, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records and update laboratory information systems.
  • Travel to and quickly adapt to new laboratory settings and workflows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Cytotechnology or related biological science.
  • ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in cytopathology preferred.
  • Strong analytical and observational skills with a focus on quality.
  • Familiarity with gynecological and non-gynecological specimen types.
  • Willingness and ability to accept travel assignments to multiple facilities.
