Additional Details:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Credentials:- Baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology, or a baccalaureate degree plus twelve months didactic and practical training in a certified cytology school.
Unit Details:- Microscopic examination, evaluation, and interpretation of cytopathologic specimens using established cytomorphologic criteria and relevant clinical data.- Reviews gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples and provides assessment to the pathologist for final diagnosis.- Assists with pathologist- and clinician-performed FNA procedures with on-site adequacy assessment.- Performs LIS reporting, quality control, workload recording, and specimen data entry and record processing.- Performs specimen processing, staining, and coverslipping as needed.- Uses SurePath equipment, centrifuge, vortex, Cytospin, and automated coverslipper.- Participates in GYN and non-GYN quality assurance activities and teaching for cytopathology fellows, residents, and student fellows.
