The Research Technician II assists the PI and senior lab personnel with human biospecimen collection, repository data management, basic lab duties and ordering/stocking of lab supplies such as reagents, pipets and cell culture supplies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of directly related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with patient interaction (IRB, HIPPA, etc) in biomedical research. Some experience with molecular biology, cell culture and in vitro assays.
• Knowledge of HIPPA compliance
• Knowledge of basic scientific technology
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety requirements
• Computer skills dexterity required for data entry, database management and retrieval of information
• Analytical skills necessary to operate laboratory computers, printers and laboratory equipment
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently
• Ability to read and perform basic math calculations
• Ability to perform routine lab work/tasks assigned by PI and supervisor

The background investigation, required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
