What You'll Do

  • Perform a broad range of lab testing without direct supervision, including RT-qPCR procedures and high-complexity testing
  • Receive, accession, and process biological specimens; solve specimen collection and processing issues
  • Execute and document quality control procedures and corrective actions per lab protocols
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as needed
  • Verify and report accurate results in a timely manner using EMR and instrument software systems
  • Comply with OSHA, CLIA, COLA, and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and accuracy
  • Maintain inventory of reagents and lab supplies; ensure cost-effective utilization
  • Participate in lab proficiency testing and continuous performance improvement initiatives

What You Bring to the Role

  • Meets CLIA, CMS, and COLA requirements for high-complexity testing:

  • Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; OR

  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology; OR

  • Equivalent education/training including:

  • 60 semester hours including 24 hours in science/MLT coursework

  • At least 3 months documented lab training in each tested specialty

  • Knowledge of molecular laboratory techniques; RT-qPCR experience preferred

  • Must have laboratory experience

  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills

  • Effective communicator and collaborative team member

  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds
