Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant I to join our team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to launch a career in biomedical or life sciences research. This is a full-time, paid position (40 hours/week). Dr. Choksi's laboratory focuses on esophageal inflammation and cancer.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform animal husbandry duties, including handling, monitoring, and experimentally manipulating laboratory mice

Maintain accurate, detailed records of animal health, experimental procedures, and observations

Support other team members with data collection and analysis

Assist with day-to-day laboratory operations and ongoing research projects
Follow all institutional animal care as well as biological and chemical safety protocols
Contribute positively to a collaborative, collegial, and productive lab environment

Qualifications:

B.S./B.A. in physical/life sciences or related field

Prior research experience preferred but not required we will train the best fit candidate
Comfort with or willingness to work with laboratory mice (including physical handling and euthanasia)
Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new techniques and protocols
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
