Position Summary: Performs diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures in various specialty sections of the clinical laboratory in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position focuses on microbiology, molecular, and immunology.
Experience
- Required: 1-3 years experience working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in a moderate to high complexity clinical laboratory testing environment, meeting or exceeding the regulatory CLIA testing personnel requirements.
Education
- Required: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field and satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
- Preferred : Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field and satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
License and Credentials
- Required: ASCP or NCA certification eligible or pending
- Preferred: ASCP, NCA, or HHS certification
Skills
- Required: Excellent critical thinking skills. Verbal and written communication at college level. Experience with instrumentation and manual methods commonly utilized in a clinical lab setting. Accurately and efficiently analyzes specimens. Phlebotomy competency. Familiar with microbiological and molecular diagnostic methods.
- Preferred: Proficiency with hospital and lab information systems, Microsoft Word & Excel.
