Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

This position will serve as a key team member of the clinical research function in the Department of Pediatrics, section of Endocrinology. Assistant Clinical Research Coordinators (ACRC) provide support, coordination and leadership for investigator-initiated research, quality improvement projects, industry sponsored clinical research, and government sponsored clinical research.
The incumbent will be responsible for, under direct supervision, preparing documentation for submission for review by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), recruiting and screening study participants, coordinating the clinical treatment and follow-up care as it pertains to study protocol(s), facilitating continued patient participation; extracting data from medical records and other sources; collecting, submitting, and maintaining study data and related regulatory documents; developing and ensuring compliance with study protocols, This position collects lab samples and questionnaires, processes blood and urine samples, and coordinates sample shipping. This position will help determine priorities, time-tables, and monitoring of overall project goals/objectives, working with the Principal Investigators and co-investigators to ensure that the studies progress as planned.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Experience with MS Office, and specific applications.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Planning and coordination skills to analyze project goals and objectives.
- Excellent organizational skills to determine workload priorities and to enable timely completion project milestones.
- Experience working effectively and independently under pressure with a minimum of direction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to express ideas assertively, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with clinical and research leadership and in approaching patients and their families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Statistics or related field.
- Experience with type 1 diabetes and diabetes technologies (insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, blood glucose meters).
- Experience with database development and management.
- Experience with REDCAP and/or StudyPages for data entry and management.
- Experience interacting with patients and their families in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Experience working with biological samples (blood and urine) in a clinical setting,
- Experience facilitating/managing meetings, including the development of meeting agendas. Experience dealing with highly confidential patient information.
- Knowledge of University of California, Davis, policies and procedures pertaining to research.
