Job Description
Job duties/responsibilities:
- Conducting independent and collaborative research in the area of functional food components and substrate-microbiome-host interactions.
- Supporting proposal writing, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
- Managing lab operations, supervising student researchers, and overseeing compliance and safety.
- Contributing to translational research and industry partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education:
- PhD or related degree in a life or physical science
Preferred Education:
- PhD in food microbiology, food science or a related field
Preferred Experience:
- Previous human clinical research experience, experience in nutrition and food science, instructional experience.
- Experience in molecular protein and nucleic acid analysis techniques, microbial fermentation, molecular biology, cell culture and experimental design.
- Ability to mentor students and postdocs.
- Prior involvement in grant funded projects
- Strong publication record.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact and work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Good computer and communication skills.
This is a 100% research appointment with potential for renewal based on performance and funding.
