We are seeking anEnvironmental Laboratory Technician
The ideal candidate would have the following qualities/skills: PAY RANGE: $16-$17/HR
Regular attendance and punctuality
Ability to analyze, prioritize, multitask assignments, and problem-solve
Ability to prepare samples using manual, automated, and instrumental methods utilizing in-house Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Ensure appropriate testing procedures are conducted in compliance with QA and SOP requirements
Prepare and maintain required documentation
Work under the guidance of Laboratory Analysts to meet lab turnaround goals
Organizational skills
The ideal candidate must possess:
High school diploma

Essential Functions:
Ensure that all samples received by the laboratory are logged in according to the appropriate procedure including labeling, logging, and acknowledging.
Maintain a clean and organized lab
Prepares general laboratory operations, including preparation and analysis of
Prepare reagents and various media for testing at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
Performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of laboratory instruments and
Documents work performed in accordance with established protocol's, compiles analysis data into lab reports.
Perform a specific analysis, or portion of analysis at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
Clean and maintain equipment and
Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory Manager
Performs other job-related duties and projects as
Supervisor Responsibilities No supervisor responsibilities
Required Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED
General familiarity with laboratory safety, previous laboratory experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Work, Excel, and
Good written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external
Ability to accurately read, write and interpret/complete all laboratory
Professional behavior and
Ability to be organized and attention to
Ability to follow written or verbal
Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines and work
General knowledge of chemistry and lab analysis
General familiarity with laboratory safety, previous laboratory experience
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory setting.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Sitting / standing for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Duties frequently involve repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of laboratory equipment is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grasp, and feel. Occasional heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 30 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. Use of applicable Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.
