Available Shift: Overnight, Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 pm – 6 am PST
Training schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday, 10am - 6:30pm.
We offer: $22/hour
Candidates Must Have:
- A Bachelor of Science in a scientific field, Biology is a plus
- Strong data entry skills, proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively, document, and follow instructions with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies, work environment, and responsibilities
- Ability to work the indicated shift and training schedules
Other Desired Skills:
- 0-1 year of experience in laboratory settings
- Some exposure to microbiology techniques, preferably in a CLIA/CAP environment
Duties:
Under constant and direct supervision of Clinical Laboratory Scientists:
- Daily Operations
- Assist in proper accessioning and labeling of samples.
- Responsible for daily sample preparation and processing.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of laboratory space and equipment. Disposing of biohazards/specimens as appropriate.
- Recording and performing daily, weekly and monthly PMs.
- Responsible for maintaining all appropriate logs for sample processing.
- Responsible for basic troubleshooting. · Responsible for sample rejections.
- Responsible for responding to all email requests and basic questions.
- Responsible for sending all daily email notifications.
- Assists with inventory management such as scheduled counts, re-stocking and rotating reagents.
- Responsible for communicating issues to upper staff.
- Responsible for carrying out equipment/reagent verifications.
- Assist other departments as necessary. · Other duties as assigned
- QA/QC
- Responsible for participating in routine PT testing.
- Responsible for following and carrying out all quality control measures such as, but not limited to QCing, controls passing, filling out appropriate logs, etc.
- Assists in corrective action investigations.
- Personnel
- Responsible for participating in competencies and annual trainings.
- Safety/Compliance
- Follows all SOPs and controlled document practices.
- Performs all document control system tasks as assigned.
- Follows all state, CAP, CLIA guidelines.
- Follows HIPAA guidelines.
- Responsible for following all safety and chemical hazards guidelines.
- Assists with inspection readiness as needed.
