As a Research Associate III on the Cell Line Development team, you'll work hands-on with mammalian CHO cell cultures, perform essential molecular biology techniques, and support end-to-end optimization of expression platforms. This role is ideal for experienced scientists ready to hit the ground running and take ownership of experiments that will shape the future of biologic drug development.

responsibilities:
  • Generate engineered mammalian cell lines, including transfection pools and clonal cell lines expressing candidate biotherapeutics
  • Conduct sterile mammalian cell culture techniques, including suspension culture, cell counting, passaging, and cryopreservation
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA plasmid preparation, PCR, and restriction enzyme digestion
  • Support multiple studies simultaneously to optimize cell line generation processes
  • Analyze experimental data and contribute to data consolidation and presentation
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and data summaries to effectively communicate progress and results
  • Present findings at lab meetings and collaborate closely across multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate, compliant records in accordance with SOPs and company policies
  • Contribute to lab operations, including reagent tracking, inventory, and general lab maintenance
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in a dynamic, goal-driven research setting
  • Actively expand scientific knowledge and technical skillsets as needed for evolving project needs

qualifications:
Required Skills:

  • Mammalian CHO Cell Culture experience, including suspension cultures, cell counting, passaging, and cryopreservation
  • Molecular Biology techniques such as DNA plasmid preparation, PCR, and restriction enzyme digestion
  • Strong technical background in cell culture and molecular biology
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively across teams
  • Strong data management and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Experience in preparing reports, presentations, and data sets to communicate scientific results
  • Compliance with applicable regulations and ensuring safe and compliant lab practices
Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with suspension culture of CHO cell lines in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
  • Familiarity with techniques such as molecular manipulations and cell culture optimization
  • Experience in mammalian cell line development or recombinant protein expression
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently troubleshoot experiments
  • Experience working in GMP/GXP-regulated environments (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of laboratory automation or specialized laboratory equipment
