What we want

Design and meticulously implement experiments and research studies in collaboration with Dr. Arosh (principal investigator or mentor) and in alignment with established scientific protocols, laboratory research goals, and funded research objectives to ensure validity and reproducibility of results. Prepare comprehensive reports, research papers, and presentations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • PhD in a related field, biomedical sciences.
  • Three years of related experience in a specialized and relevant field of research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology, endocrinology, physiology, biochemistry or neuroscience, demonstrating a high level of expertise and commitment to their discipline.
  • Extensive experience (8-10 years) in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, and/or neuroscience with a strong background in conducting independent research
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis techniques is essential for effectively interpreting complex scientific data
  • Experience in grant writing and securing research funding
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and research software
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure safe and compliant research practices

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs

Responsibilities

Conduct Research and Analyses

  • Des ign and meticulously implement experiments and research studies in collaboration with the principal investigator or mentor and in alignment with established scientific protocols, laboratory research goals, and funded research objectives to ensure validity and reproducibility of results.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and interpretations of complex datasets using advanced statistical methods and software to extract nuanced insights and draw meaningful conclusions that advance the field.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, research papers, and presentations that clearly articulate methodologies, findings, and implications, tailored for diverse audiences, including academic peers and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, scientists, and institutional stakeholders on various projects to leverage collective expertise and foster innovation.
  • Continuously stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, methodologies, and technological developments, integrating new techniques into research activities to enhance the quality and scope of the research.
  • Manage laboratory equipment meticulously, ensuring all apparatus is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with safety standards and regulations to create a secure and efficient research environment.
  • Meet the research compliance and responsible conduct of research established by TAMU
  • Participate in IACUC and IBC protocol development and follow protocols for BSL1 and BSL2 levels.

Grant writing and other Publications

  • Identify and evaluate potential funding sources, assisting in the preparation of grant writing proposals to secure financial support for ongoing and future research projects.
  • Actively participate in research papers, academic conferences, workshops, and seminars, presenting research findings to engage with the scientific community and facilitate knowledge exchange.

Mentoring, Supervision, and Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor students, postdoctoral researchers, trainees, and research assistants, providing guidance and fostering their professional development through hands-on training and constructive feedback.
  • Develop and nurture strategic relationships with external research partners, institutions, and funding agencies to enhance collaborative opportunities and drive impactful research initiatives.
  • Collegially work with other lab members, team members, trainees, and students in the working environment.
