They conduct lab experiments, analyze results, document findings, and present their conclusions. They collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and technicians to design and develop new technologies. Biologists also ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines. Important skills include problem-solving, critical thinking, data analysis, and strong communication skills. They must have hands-on experience with various lab equipment and biotechnological techniques. A solid understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, and biochemistry is crucial in this role. In addition to a bachelor's or master's degree in biology or a similar field, some positions may require specific certifications, such as Certified Biologist (CB) or Clinical Molecular Genetics (CMG).
