Biostatistician Jobs in New Jersey

A Biostatistician in the biotechnology industry applies statistical principles to design research studies, analyze and interpret data from these studies to drive decision-making and innovation. They play a key role in drug development, from pre-clinical trials to post-market surveillance, by ensuring data integrity and validity. They design and maintain databases, develop statistical analysis plans and perform complex statistical analyses, prepare reports and publications, and contribute to regulatory submissions. They also collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and other professionals to address complex biological problems and improve patient health outcomes.

Important skills for a Biostatistician include statistical software proficiency (like R, SAS, or Python), data management and analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Professional certifications like Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or SAS Certified Statistical Business Analyst can be beneficial. Prior to becoming a Biostatistician, one might have roles such as a Research Assistant, Data Analyst, or Statistical Analyst in fields like public health, clinical research, or pharmaceuticals.
