Conducts and supports laboratory or field research by setting up and conducting experiments in the lab. Develops, adapts, and builds equipment, procedures, and techniques to fit specific experiment requirements. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment, instruments, and apparatuses.

Conduct scientific research:
- This includes learning techniques such as protein assay, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture with downstream analysis.
- Attend weekly lab meeting to present project updates.
- Participate in development of scientific projects, grant writing, and manuscript writing and preparation.
- Develop scientific figures for projects.
- Stay up to date with literature.
- Attend and partake in local seminars and conferences.
Lab maintenance:
- Mopping/sweeping
- Decontamination
- Refill disenfectants
- Clean lab supplies
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience in health science research.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups.
- Present and discuss scientific results.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Prior research in cardiac and/or skeletal muscle.
- Bachelor's degree in health science or related field.
- Animal research experience.
- Prior experience with bioinformatics.
- Some knowledge with health sciences, biology, physiology, or equivalent background. Previous molecular and cellular research.
